FINANCIAL INSTITUTION – ROBBERY C12-173870
On August 30, 2012, at approximately 1:55 p.m., officers responded to a financial institution located in the 800 block of Empress Street regarding a robbery that just occurred.
 
Investigators have determined that a lone male suspect entered the bank and eventually approached one of the tellers. It was at this time the suspect demanded cash while indicating that he was in possession of a weapon.
 
The teller feared for her safety and complied with the suspect's demand. The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, 20-30 years of age, muscular build, approximately 250 lbs., 6'4" tall, short brown hair and a tattoo on the back of his neck.  
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-175413
On September 1, 2012, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial robbery at a convenience store located in the 3300 block of Portage Avenue.
 
The investigation has revealed that a male suspect entered the store and proceeded behind the cash counter. It was at this time he began removing an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
 
At the time of the incident, the suspect was observed to be in possession of a large knife, however no one was injured.
 
The suspect is descried as: Male, Caucasian, 24-25 years of age, 5'10" tall, average build, dirty blonde short curly hair, large sideburns and approximately 180 lbs.  
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 2 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2839 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
