UPDATE - PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUIRED – BODY LOCATED IN RIVER C12-114018
As previously released - On Friday, June 15, 2012, at approximately 10:00 a.m., emergency responders attended to the east side of the Red River, just south of the north perimeter bridge, for a report of a body that was located in the river. An autopsy has been completed and there are no signs of foul play. The deceased adult female has not been positively identified and members of the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit continue to investigate.  
 
A facial reconstruction has been completed by a forensic artist in the hopes of assisting in identifying this female. This drawing is not an exact likeliness.
 
 
 
The Female is believed to be between 35 – 50 years of age, approximately 5'5" tall, slim build and may have worn dentures.
 
Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the deceased female. The following photos consist of a variety of unique jewellery worn by the deceased:
 
     
  
      

       

         
    
Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the deceased female is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
 
ARSON – ARREST C12-182975
Between September 10 and September 11, 2012, emergency personnel responded to numerous locations in the North End area of the city regarding fires that were deliberately set.
 
The locations and damage caused is as follows:
 
600 block of Manitoba Avenue – September 10th, 3:20 a.m. – vehicle fire
 
500 block of Magnus Avenue – September 10th, 7:15 p.m. – new house under construction
 
500 block of Burrows Avenue – September 10th, 10:45 p.m. – garbage bin
 
200 block of Pritchard Avenue – September 11th, 2:50 a.m. – garbage fire that spread to a fence and vehicle
 
Two residences located in the 200 block of Pritchard Avenue – September 11th, 5:35 a.m. – Brush and garbage fire damaging fences at both properties
 
Due to the efforts of District 3 uniform patrol members, a female suspect was located and arrested in the area of Manitoba Avenue on September 11th at approximately 5:50 a.m.
 
Members of the Arson Strike Force were notified and continued with the investigation.
 
Crystal Shannon BEARDY, 23 years has been charged with the following offences due to her alleged involvement: Arson–Damage to Property x 5 and Possession Incendiary Material.
 
She was detained.
 
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY – ARRESTS C12-183073
On September 11, 2012, at approximately 9:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of Main Street and Cathedral Avenue due to the report of a robbery incident that just occurred.
 
Attending members located an injured 80 year old female who was being assisted by a family member. It was determined that the victim was walking home when she was confronted from behind by two female suspects. The females took hold of the victim's purse and pushed her to the ground. Once the victim was on the ground, the suspects fled the area with the purse. The victim was injured as a result of the robbery.
 
Witnesses pursued the suspects which caused one of the suspects to drop the purse. The purse was returned to the victim and police were notified.
 
Due to public assistance, officers located and arrested both suspects in the area of the 100 block of Machray Avenue at approximately 9:25 a.m.
 
Two 15 year old females are facing the following charge: Robbery
 
One of the females was detained and the other was released on a Promise to Appear.
