Thursday, September 6, 2012
 
MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN   C12-178669
On Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at approximately 4:20 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Pembina Highway and Dalhousie Drive regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
 
Investigating members learned that a 21 year old female was crossing Pembina Highway on the south side of Dalhousie Drive in a westerly direction, when she was struck by a vehicle turning southbound onto Pembina Highway from Dalhousie Drive.
 
The pedestrian was conveyed to hospital in critical condition where she was later upgraded to stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Collision Investigation Section.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT C12-178877
On Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at approximately 9:50 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a sexual assault which took place in the area of the 900 block of Plessis Road.
 
The investigation revealed that a 50 year old female was walking in the area at approximately 9:00 p.m., when a male suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her. The suspect attempted to take hold of the victim; however she was able to break from his grip and she fled from the area.
 
The victim sustained minor injury but did not require medical attention.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, 5'10" – 6'0" tall, medium build, wearing dark coloured clothing.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6245 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
  
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-179022
On Thursday, September 6, 2012 at approximately 12:55 a.m., General Patrol Members responded to a convenience store located in the 800 block of Cavalier Street regarding a commercial robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that a male and female armed with weapons attended to the store and approached a 27 year old male employee. The male and female suspects demanded and retrieved items before fleeing from the location.
 
The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.
 
The suspects are described as following:
Suspect #1: Male, Caucasian, 5'10" tall, slim build
Suspect #2: Female, 5'0" tall, heavy build
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-179082
On Thursday, September 6, 2012 at approximately 2:40 a.m., General Patrol Members responded to a convenience store located in the area of the 3300 block of Portage Avenue regarding a commercial robbery.
 
Responding members learned that a male and female armed with weapons attended to the store and approached a 27 year old female employee. The male and female suspects demanded and retrieved an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing from the location.
 
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1: Male, Caucasian, 6'0" tall, average build, short shaved hair
Suspect #2: Female, Caucasian, 5'0" – 5'7" tall
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
