Wednesday, September 5, 2012
 
SERIOUS ASSAULT   C12-177621
On Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue regarding a serious assault.
 
Responding members located an injured 16 year old male. The male was conveyed to hospital where he remains in unstable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau (Division 40). Anyone that may have witnessed or have any information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-7983 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SHOTS FIRED   C12-178047
On Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at approximately 8:40 p.m., General Patrol Members, attended to the area of the 500 block of Furby Street regarding the report of shots fired.
 
Attending members learned that a group of individuals were in the area of this location at which time a number of shots were fired.
 
No one sustained injuries as a result of the incident and there was no damage to property.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.

SHOTS FIRED   C12-178164
On Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 800 block of Boyd Avenue for the report of shots fired.
 
Upon arrival officers confirmed that a shot had been fired at the front of a residence. There were several people inside the residence at the time of the incident, however no one sustained injury.   
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.

SHOTS FIRED   C12-178225
On Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at approximately 1:10 a.m., General Patrol Members responded to the 400 block of Toronto Street regarding the report of shots fired.
 
Officers arrived at the residence and located an incendiary device which had been ignited and caused a small fire. The fire was immediately extinguished by officers. The investigation revealed that multiple shots were fired at the residence. Several individuals that were within the residence at the time of the incident did not sustain injury as a result. There was minor damage to the residence.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C12-176500
As previously released - on September 2, 2012, at approximately 2:20 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Burrows Avenue and Main Street regarding suspicious circumstances.
 
Attending officers confirmed that a body had been located. The deceased has been identified as 23 year old, Simone SANDERSON.
 
As a result of autopsy results the death of SANDERSON is now a confirmed homicide.
 
Investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.

STOLEN VEHICLE ARRESTS R12-88801
On Monday, September 3, 2012 at approximately 2:50 a.m., Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 1400 block of Portage Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle.
The investigation revealed that three suspects were observed operating a vehicle in the area. A concerned citizen had contacted police.
 
Attending officers arrived at the location and all three suspects fled from the area. With the assistance of the K9 Unit and the Flight Operation Unit (AIR1) directing officer to the suspects' location, all three suspects were located, arrested and taken into custody.
 
Two 13 year old males are facing charges of Theft Over $5000. They were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
A 13 year old female was released on a Caution for Joy Riding.
