FREE VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION CLINIC
The Winnipeg Police Service Vehicle Inspection Section in conjunction with Manitoba Public Insurance Standards and Technologies will be offering a free motor vehicle inspection clinic. This event will be held on Sunday, September 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Manitoba Public Insurance Service Centre, 420 Pembina Highway. 
 
As a Public Service they will provide a vehicle safety inspection and an informational check sheet but will not issue offence notices or do any follow-up for re-inspects for defects or infractions.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service, including our partners in the transportation industry is committed to promoting safety for all motorists using the streets and highways throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba.

STABBING C12-191338
On September 22, 2012, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Langside Street regarding a stabbing incident.
 
Attending members located and identified a 20 year old male who had sustained injuries consistent with being stabbed. He was conveyed from the scene initially in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
 
Limited information was provided, however it was determined that the victim had been walking in the area of Sargent Avenue and Langside Street at approximately 1:00 a.m. when he was confronted by two unknown males. After a brief conversation, one of the males produced a knife and stabbed the victim to the upper body.
 
No arrests have been made at this time.
